I can't help it. I'm human. I like gold stars. Didn't we all want one as a kid? One of my worst memories of my childhood (and the only memory that I can think of from 1st grade) is every Friday having a spelling test. If you got a 100%, then you got ONE cheesy-puff from the giant cheesy-puff container. (Yes, as an adult I realize these were even generic cheesy puffs.) Every Friday I was reduced nearly to tears over my tragic lack of spelling ability.?

I wanted that cheesy-puff.??
So now, I write in a few places. I have been writing here at Active Rain since 2007. In that time I've written 955 blogs and received 15 gold stars. Maybe I should be happy with that. Maybe I'm just not that good of a writer. Maybe no one actually cares about what I write about.?

Still, I've had a lot of gold stars in places like "Stage it Forward", "The Art of Marketing You", and "Bananatude". Twice recently (and currently I think), I've had stars in two of the three locations (and on very rare occasion all three), at the same time. Your blog suddenly starts getting a lot of comments and then you find out that you earned a banana, you think,?"SWEET". Suddenly get a cookie from Marti and you think,?"Both a banana and a cookie? I'll just sit back and wait for the gold star!"
